Frequently Asked Questions
While we’re a fan of all companion pets, at this time, our services are only available for cats and dogs.
Fuzzl is currently in the following cities within the greater Kansas City metro: Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Prairie Village, Fairway, Westwood, Merriam, KCMO, Lee’s Summit, Independence, Raymore, Raytown and Blue Springs. We’re constantly expanding so be sure to check back if you don’t see your city listed.
Fuzzl veterinary technicians are either licensed and/or have at least 5 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic. You can trust that your furbabies are in excellent hands with our qualified team!
Fuzzl provides supplemental pet care and our services fall into three categories: routine & wellness care, nursing care, and supportive care. The services we offer do not require the care and expertise of a veterinarian. Fuzzl service providers are qualified veterinary technicians but cannot make any medical diagnoses or prescribe medication. Fuzzl does NOT replace necessary medical care from a licensed veterinarian.
- You must be able to show proof of a current rabies vaccination for any pet receiving services. If your pet has a medical exemption, you must able to provide documentation from a licensed veterinarian. In the event of a bite, if your pet is not current on their rabies vaccine (or you’re unable to provide proof), you must abide by your city’s requirements involving animal bites.
- The safety of our veterinary technicians is a top priority. Therefore, if your pet has aggression issues, Fuzzl is not the right service for you. Each of our veterinary technicians has the right to refuse service if they deem the pet too aggressive to safely handle.
- When scheduling your appointment, please include all pertinent information about your pet(s). Are they shy and fearful, have a sensitive area they don’t like touched, have a favorite treat they can’t resist? Providing this type of information will help facilitate a better experience for you, your pet and the veterinary technician.
- For any supplies that you, as the client, are responsible for providing, have them available and ready for the appointment.
- Check to make sure that all medications to be administered are unexpired and specifically prescribed for the pet scheduled to receive care. If either of these conditions are not met, the veterinary technician will not be able to provide the requested services.
- Please have your pet secured in an easily accessible location prior to the veterinary technician’s arrival. Especially if your pet has a tendency to hide when they hear a doorbell ring. Our appointments average about 15 minutes so it’s very important for the veterinary technician to start on time.
- Unless requested, please do not interfere while your pet is being handled and receiving care. This can make the veterinary technician’s job more difficult and increase your pet’s anxiety level.
- If you want additional services that were not originally scheduled, please understand that our veterinary technicians may be unable to add them to your existing appointment. Since our appointment times are relatively short, the veterinary technician may not have the ability to stay beyond the scheduled time. In that case, please schedule a separate appointment.
When scheduling, you will need to provide a credit or debit card to secure the appointment. The payment will be processed once the services are complete.
- There is no fee for cancellations 24 hours prior to the appointment.
- Appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged a 50% cancellation fee, based on the total amount of booked services.
- Appointments cancelled with less than 12 hours’ notice will be charged a 100% cancellation fee, based on the total amount of booked services.
